Downtown Charleston Engagement Photos | Matthew Pautz Photography | Greenville Wedding Photographer
Alexandra and Casey
Charleston South Carolina is one of the most heavily photographed places in the country. This isn’t by chance either – Charleston has such a unique low-country charm that people can’t help but to snap some photos while walking around. I am a Greenville SC Wedding Photographer by default, but I always enjoy traveling to Charleston for this very reason. Reasons like beautiful old oak trees covered with Spanish moss. Reasons like cobblestone streets rich with history, beautiful alleyways, and being able to walk right from downtown the some of the best beaches in the country. If I could replace the weather in Charleston with the weather of Greenville, I would move here in a flash. However for now, I am happy (and lucky) to have a couple like Alex and Casey who trusted me with their Charleston engagement photos. And boy did we have fun with them.
The streets of Downtown Charleston really provide the perfect backdrop for a romantic love story. Most of the Cobblestone street photos you see here were taken on Chalmers Street, one of the most unique and charming streets I’ve ever walked.
The weather throughout the day was typical for the city – unpredictable. But when you’re taking your engagement photos in Charleston, it’s just something you have to come to expect. Of course, Alex and Casey are not strangers to this, and when I brought the weather up they just shrugged their shoulders and said ‘That sounds about right”. At first we were worried because thunderstorms were in the area all evening, but we were able to enjoy some brief sunshine, followed by a perfect rainbow and a gorgeous sunset. We could not have asked for a more perfect way to end the evening.
We ended the evening sharing a few drinks at The Rooftop at The Vendue, the place where the happy couple first met. It was a fitting end to the day, and the perfect place to watch the remnants of a beautiful sunset.
Wonderful clients, beautiful city, and a romantic story. I hope you enjoyed viewing some of the highlights from Alex and Casey’s engagement session. If you are interested in having your own Charleston engagement photos done, please don’t hesitate to contact me and give me another excuse to visit. And look for Alex and Casey’s wedding post, coming up later this year! It’s going to be a good one.
