Melissa and Chris
“Because I could watch you for a single minute and find a thousand things that I love about you.”
Morganton, North Carolina
Today is a good day. I get to share Melissa and Chris’ Silver Fork Winery wedding day. Melissa and Chris are some of my original wedding clients, and are both good friends of mine. They believed in me way back in 2014, back when I was still searching for my wedding photography style. I have worked with them more than any other couple…two engagement sessions, bridal photos, planning, meetings…and now finally their beautiful Silver Fork Winery wedding. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time!
Everything about Melissa and Chris’ wedding was designed to show their unique personalities and how they complemented each other so perfectly. They got engaged in Mexico on a trip centered around the migration of the Monarch butterflies, so they fittingly made the Monarchs a central theme to their wedding. Their details from the jewelry to the cake were Monarch-related, and the majority of their morning was spend tagging living Monarchs and releasing them at the ceremony in the hopes that they could be tracked and found at the end of their migration in Mexico. What an amazing idea!
The tagging of the Monarch butterflies. One of my favorite parts of the day.
Now that the Monarchs were tagged and everyone was ready, it was time for the first look. I had to abbreviate it for the sake of the length of the blog, but that look on Chris’ face when he sees her in her dress for the first time is all you need. I saw this look throughout the rest of the evening.
This was another truly unique detail – a butterfly themed guest book of sorts. Guests sign their name on the wooden cutouts and fill in the the spots on the tree board. A beautiful idea that fit perfectly with the concept of the day.
After the ceremony, it was time for what everyone looks forward to – the reception. Melissa and Chris enjoy their wine and their fun, and their reception had plenty of both.
What a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. I enjoyed every second of it, and I am so happy to finally to get share. Much love to you both!
