Downtown Greenville South Carolina Engagement Photos – Alexandria and Ben
Locations: Greenville, Falls Park
As a wedding photographer, it feels strange saying that engagement photos are my favorite thing to do. Truth is that I love both equally, it’s just that I enjoy shooting engagements for different reasons. There is no substitute for the amazing energy and unique situations I get to photograph during weddings. Weddings take me to some of the most interesting, unique places I’ve ever seen. But with engagements, it’s totally different – I can control things. I can control the location, the lighting, the posing, the look, the feel, the environment….and I can do so in a stress-free frame of mind with no time schedule. This basically means I get full creative control, and a lot of that means getting to try new things that I might not be able to try at a wedding. Things like specific off-camera lighting setups, new poses, and basically just getting to experiment. And with clients like Alex and Ben, nothing is off-limits. Add in the fact that the Fall Colors were in full swing, and you have the perfect recipe and combination for memorable engagement photos.
Ironically, the one thing I can’t control for during engagements is the weather…and that’s the one thing that just wasn’t cooperating. It was one of those gloomy, overcast, rainy days where you don’t know if it’s raining hard enough to need an umbrella, but you KNOW you’re going to get wet. Luckily, Alex and Ben were awesome enough not to care at all. Like many of my clients, they are adventurous people – they didn’t mind getting out there in the bad weather. And what they got was a unique experience – rainy engagement photos that few others get to have. And that is life – not really knowing what you’re going to get, but going for it anyway. I am honored to know and work with clients like Alex and Ben – I hope you enjoy these samples from their engagement session. And don’t forget to check back here again in 2016 for their wedding photos!
