Megan + Lee
Asheville, North Carolina
Weddings are amazing events. Unless you’re Charlie Sheen, it will be the biggest party you ever throw. It will be filled with all your friends, family, colleagues, good times, and alcohol (maybe). Your wedding is the culmination of two independent stories being pulled tightly together into one. It is the beginning of a new story. One of my favorite stories so far has been that of Megan and Lee. If you have been following my work, you will have seen a lot of them. From their picturesque Asheville / Mountain engagement session to Megan’s bridal photos at Revel, to consults and talking about wedding details, I have enjoyed every minute spent with them.
It is difficult to convey personality in wedding photos, but you can tell a lot about Megan and Lee just by looking at the expressions on their faces. The look of true happiness in Megan’s eyes when she’s around Lee. The strong silent pride visible in Lee’s face when they share their first dance. This is magic, and it speaks a thousand words about who they are as people. Their wedding was a spectacular event from start to finish, and I could not think of a better way for them to start their new story together.
Their day began at the Asheville Crowne Plaza, moved to the historic First Baptist Church in Downtown Asheville, and ended up at the beautifully decorated Crest Center and Pavilion. You can thank Blossoms at Biltmore Park for the amazing transformation and reception decorations – one of the best I’ve ever seen. Needless to say, Megan and Lee’s wedding was an experience that I will never forget. Choosing the limited number of images to appear in this blog was nearly impossible because there were so many beautiful moments and experiences throughout the day. As a result, this one will be a bit longer than usual, so get comfortable and enjoy the ride. As usual, I like to start with some of my favorite couple’s photos from throughout the day.
(Continued Below)
The day begins at the Asheville Crowne Plaza and resort, on a beautiful cloudy Spring day…my favorite wedding photography conditions. I spent a lot of time here for Megan’s prep shots, which is always appreciated because that means more time to experiment with new ideas and techniques.
The groomsmen began their day right across the hall in a separate suite at the Crowne Plaza. Special thanks to my 2nd photographer Michael Langley Gibbons for helping cover the groomsmen getting ready.
Megan and Lee’s ceremony took place at the historic First Baptist Church in downtown Asheville NC. As you can see, it is a gorgeous place for a wedding ceremony, and I hope to come back again some day.
The couple decided to have a “no look” first look, which turned out beautifully.
The reception and remaining events took place at the Crest Center and Pavilion, flipped and transformed by Blossoms at Biltmore Park. I couldn’t think of a better venue to hold their reception.
And what an exit! A perfect end to a perfect wedding day. Congratulations to Megan and Lee, and I hope your new lives together feel this amazing every day!
