Campbell’s Covered Bridge Surprise Proposal Photos | Landrum South Carolina | Bryson + Isabella
As a wedding and engagement photographer, I rarely get to see the actual proposal that kicks off the engagement. It’s strange because I only meet my clients after the deed is done and they are well on their way with planning their wedding. So when I was contacted by Bryson about photographing his surprise proposal at Campbell’s Covered Bridge in Landrum SC, I of course jumped at the chance.
Proposals are unique in the photography world. They represent the ultimate live event – a candid photographer has one chance to get it right…and that requires planning. The photographer has to know when/where it will happen, where to stand, how to blend in and not attract attention to themselves, and the best place to photograph the scene. Luckily Bryson realized this from the beginning, and we met a few days before the proposal to hammer out the details.
The proposal itself went off without a hitch! It was now Spring, and the weather was perfect for an unexpected proposal. Despite our early worries about it being too crowded, we ended up being the only ones present at the bridge. And while this meant I now stuck out like a sore thumb, it all ended up wonderfully with a happy, newly-engaged couple and some extra time for some quick engagement photos.
Congratulations Bryson and Isabella! May your lives together be everything you’ve dreamed of!
