Furman University Daniel Chapel Wedding
Katie + Aaron
Furman University, Greenville, South Carolina
As far as wedding photography goes, I have a pretty long history with Katie and Aaron. They were really on top of their planning, first contacting me a year before their wedding. Since then, we have worked together for their engagement photos, Katie’s bridal photos, and multiple calls, meetings, and more…In that time I have also seen them go through several life milestones, not the least of which being Katie graduating from the USC school of Law. Needless to say, this has been a busy year for the two of them. But throughout the crazy stress added with the further craziness of wedding planning, they both maintained a level head the entire time. Well, as far as I know of course, but if I don’t witness a meltdown on the wedding day that’s pretty much a win in my book.
But a lack of a meltdown is obviously not the only win I experienced that day….Katie and Aaron are a power couple that doesn’t accept anything less than perfection. They are the rare kind of passionate, hard working couple that could conquer the world together. A perfect blend of hyper-organized Type A with good old fashioned down-to-earth friendliness that just makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Being a part of their wedding day and seeing how it unfolded was an exceptional experience for me, and I enjoyed every second of it.
But without getting too wordy in the intro, check out the photos for yourself…hopefully I can convey how perfectly these two match up together, and show that sometimes two people are just meant to end up together.
The guys, having the easier job, got ready by goofing off and having fun before the wedding, showing off their ping pong skills. The ladies began their day at The Hyatt in Downtown Greenville, one of my favorite places to photograph getting ready photos. I always like it here because parking is plentiful and there is a lot I can work with in the rooms themselves. Makeup and hair styling was provided by the always-amazing Katie Cotton, and the entertainment was provided by endless mimosas – A great way to start any wedding!
Now that everyone was ready, it was time for the first look outside Furman’s beautiful Daniel Chapel. This is the look of two people meant for each other. They have history here at Furman, so it was the perfect setting for their wedding. This was my first time photographing a Furman University Daniel Chapel wedding, but I was already familiar with it from Katie’s bridal session earlier this year. Not to mention I do a lot of work at Furman lately, and Katie had a magnificently-designed timeline that allowed me to know exactly what to expect. Preparation always pays off in the photos!
After the wedding ceremony itself, at the gorgeous Daniel Chapel at Furman University, it was time for the party. Starting with a limo ride to their reception at The Commerce Club, which I was graciously allowed to share. I am no stranger to Commerce Club receptions, and I always love the feel of a wedding reception here.
Now that was a lively bunch….a wonderful wedding and reception for a perfect couple. Cheers to you both, I wish you the best of luck in your new lives together!
