The Old Cigar Warehouse Wedding Photography

Anna + Taylor

It has been a long time since I photographed a wedding here at The Old Cigar Warehouse. But nothing has changed since the last time – I still love photographing weddings like Anna and Taylor’s at venues in downtown Greenville, SC; and The Old Cigar Warehouse will always be an (old) standby…pardon the pun. The location is first rate, which is something I absolutely love as a wedding photographer. To have the option to wander around downtown for wedding photos is a luxury we don’t always have. So The Old Cigar Warehouse’ setting right on Main Street in the heart of downtown Greenville is stellar. And although I don’t always have the opportunity to wander at every wedding, it is nice to know I still have the option.

And while the Old Cigar Warehouse may be a difficult venue to photograph (in regards to lighting challenges), I think it really depends on the style of the photographer more than anything else. I personally love dark wedding venues because they perfectly complement my photography style and approach to weddings. Plus, the beautiful brick, outdoor patio, gorgeous back alley, and the general surroundings just blend together perfectly for what I have come to know as a wonderful wedding photography experience for those willing to step up to the challenge.

Anna and Taylor certainly thought so too, since booking The Old Cigar warehouse was never a question for them – They chose it as a location for their wedding almost immediately after viewing the property. And just like they expected, it was the perfect backdrop for their wedding day…which turned out to be full of beautiful, candid moments; teary eyes; and wonderful times with friends and family. So read below and get a first hand look into Anna and Taylor’s Spring wedding at The Old Cigar Warehouse!

As you can see above, Anna and Taylor actually chose a local AirBnb for their getting ready location – something I don’t see often enough. It was a great idea! It can be difficult to find a nice place where a large wedding party can comfortably have their hair and makeup done. I am seeing more and more brides opt to rent a house for the weekend, and I would love to see that happen more often.

Taylor was still able to use the Old Cigar Warehouse for his getting ready photos, since the groom generally has the easier job when it comes to preparing for the wedding. And for all the same reasons I mentioned at the beginning, I always love taking these photos here at the venue.

The Old Cigar Warehouse Wedding Ceremony

After the wedding ceremony, we headed outside for some group and couple’s photos. This is where the location really comes in handy…I like having a lot of variety in my locations when it comes to wedding photography so I can try and keep things from looking like the same old stuff over and over. So we took a little time to explore the area a bit after the ceremony. As you can see below, we also came back later in the evening for a few night photos as well. Night wedding photos aren’t something I get to do at every wedding, but I always enjoy them! Anna and Taylor were looking for a few minutes to escape the craziness of the wedding day anyway, so it was a win-win for everyone.
