Julia + Brian’s Greenville South Carolina Wedding
at The Rock Quarry Garden and Larkin’s Shirley Roe Cabaret Room
Bonus location: Frank’s Gentlemen’s Salon
“There is no remedy for love but to love more.”– Henry David Thoreau
With wedding photography, sometimes the stars align and you get that perfect mix of couple, location, and moments that defines the perfect wedding. Julia and Brian’s Rock Quarry Wedding was one of those perfect mixes. With movie star looks, world-class personalities, and an amazing ability to have (and create) fun everywhere they go, Brian and Julia were an incredible couple to work with. And what better place to celebrate their love than the gorgeous Rock Quarry Garden in Greenville? Followed up with the reception and catering by Larkin’s in their Shirley Roe Cabaret Room and you have the perfect recipe for an unforgettable night. To add another layer to the mix, Live music was provided by the powerful and energetic Fly By Radio, who delivered some of the greatest live rock music I’ve heard in a long time. They were able to get the crowd dancing (not that they needed much help!) and even Brian and Julia ended up dancing up on the stage in a spur-of-the-moment Karaoke contest. Did I mention how much fun these two are?
Hair and makeup was provided by Cotton Rouge, specifically the talented Latia Curtis, who ensured everyone looked beautiful for the big day, while simultaneously keeping them happy and laughing. This personal touch is why I always love working with Cotton Rouge. And what about the guys? They had something unique as well – the entire groomsmen party got hot shaves at Frank’s Gentlemen’s Salon, a Frank Sinatra inspired professional men’s salon with a one-of-a-kind barber shop experience. This was new for me too. I usually only get to photograph the ladies getting ready because aside from putting on their jackets, the groomsmen don’t need to do a lot to prepare. It was a great experience to see everyone taken care of the way Frank’s did, and I think it gave a unique element to their wedding photos.
So now that everyone’s ready, how did they get to the Rock Quarry right in the heart of downtown greenville for the ceremony? How about the trolley? Just another one of the unique elements that went into this wedding.
As a wedding photographer, I say this a lot…but with all these amazing details coming together for all these amazing people, it was impossible for me to not love every minute of photographing this wedding. Weddings like this make me thankful for the job I have, and the fact that I get to share these amazing times with such great people. To be trusted to provide wedding photos on such an important day is and will always be an honor for me. I hope you enjoy the results!
