Mark + Jen
Greenville, South Carolina
I’ve been looking forward to Mark and Jennifer’s wedding for a long time. Aside from just being a great couple (hint: all my couples are great couples!), they are genuinely fun people to be around. They are people who will make you laugh, smile, and say ‘awww’ when you see them together. People who you just like being in the same room with. Not surprisingly, Mark and Jen wanted a lower key, intimate wedding. Especially with Jen rounding out her med school classes around the time of the wedding, they just wanted some much needed relaxation and fun. Add that in with Mark’s genuine interest and knowledge of photography (which meant more time and planning for photos!), and you have the recipe for a great wedding.
For their wedding, Mark and Jen decided on Twigs Tempietto. If you have never been there, it is a somewhat famous wedding venue in Greenville with unique styling and a very interesting environment for wedding photography. This was my first full wedding at Twigs, although I have been here in the past for smaller events. I always enjoy working here, and I think it was a perfect backdrop to their wedding day.

A wedding at Twigs generally means a lot of the planning legwork is done already – Aside from being the wedding venue, they also handled the wedding flowers and catering. And as you will notice below, the entire area has a strong environmental mood, coinciding perfectly with the theme of the venue. The gorgeous wedding cake above was provided by Cakes by Becca.
After their gorgeous ceremony, we had quite a bit more time for their couple’s photos than I am used to having. Time means the ability to explore a little more and try new ideas. I have a feeling Mark’s photography interest was a big reason they were so understanding with having their wedding photographer drag them all throughout the area for photos. I am thankful to have had that extra time to work with and connect with them more than I normally would at a wedding.
Their reception was a ton of fun – great food, great drink, and great people. And an adorable ring bearer who stole the show on more than one occasion.
Mark and Jen’s beautiful Twigs Tempietto wedding was a great experience all around. I wish them a lifetime of happiness together!
