Viewpoint at Buckhorn Creek Wedding Photos

Greenville, South Carolina
Meghan + Steven
I always take it as the highest possible compliment whenever I am hired by a fellow wedding vendor to photograph a wedding. Wedding vendors know weddings – They work with so many different photographers that they tend to be very discerning and particular about who they work with (and for good reason!). So if I make the cut, I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that I was picked for a reason. This time, it was a bit more indirect, since Meghan herself isn’t a wedding vendor. She is, however, the daughter of the the owners of Viewpoint at Buckhorn Creek themselves! So when she contacted me about photographing her wedding at the Viewpoint at Buckhorn Creek, I nearly fell out of my chair. This wedding venue was her childhood home! She grew up there back before it was a wedding venue, so to be her choice to photographer her Viewpoint at Buckhorn Creek wedding, I was more than honored. I absolutely loved the responsibility of photographing her wedding here, and wanted to give her a special and unique look at her wedding…Even though she was far more familiar with the venue than I would ever be.
But it also just so happens that I love photographing Viewpoint at Buckhorn Creek weddings. For one thing, I live right around the corner, which means no stressful travel the day of the wedding. But more importantly, it is because I love the possibilities of this wedding venue. The indoor spaces are large, bright, and beautifully set. This is a home first and foremost, so it obviously has the down-to-Earth charm that many couples are looking for in their venue. There are multiple levels to the house, which means both the bride and groom can get ready on-site (Which is very important for photography logistics). But there are also professional areas both covered and open, for a gorgeous wedding reception. There is space for a tent in case of rainy days, or a covered gazebo which perfectly matches my wedding photography style. There are numerous other outdoor spaces great for wedding photos – Some large and open, and some small and quaint – But they have their own unique charm. A beautiful lighted patio that works great for night photos, and of course the ceremony spot.
The Viewpoint at Buckhorn Creek has an incredible spot for a wedding ceremony – close to some trees near the patio, with one of the only mountain views anywhere close to Greenville proper. Even if it’s at a distance, the mountains really make for a beautiful backdrop for a wedding here – Especially around sunset.
So basically, Meghan and Steven’s wedding had it all. A perfect wedding venue that just happened to be her childhood home, filled with memories. A beautiful setting for wedding photography. Mountain vibes, and rustic indoor spaces…also a blessing for wedding photos. And of course an absolutely perfect couple to bring life to the walls. I mean, just take a look at their engagement photos…these two clearly were meant for each other. All in all, Meghan and Steven’s Viewpoint at Buckhorn Creek wedding was one of my all time favorite weddings I’ve ever photographed. Just take a look below at some of my favorites from their day!
