Wedding at Windy Hill Farm
Windy Hill Farm Wedding Photography

Simpsonville, SC
Being a wedding photographer in the Southeast means photographing lots of barn weddings. This isn’t a bad thing by any means, but after working at a dozen or so odd barn venues, there are really no new surprises. Windy Hill Farm however, happens to be one of my favorite barn venues. First of all, it feels a lot less like a barn, and more like it’s own unique event space…at least as far as wedding photography goes. For one thing, Windy Hill Farm is air conditioned! I am a hard working wedding photographer, and I sweat while I work…hard. So I always appreciate a good air conditioned barn wedding in the middle of the summer. I’ll always pour sweat as long as I’m working, but at least here I don’t have to worry about heat stroke!
The second thing I love about a wedding at Windy Hill Farm is the fact that there is a ton of outdoor space to use. From a wedding photography standpoint, there is a lot of greenery, a lot of tress, a great sunset view, and of course the barn itself is gorgeous. So when I photograph a wedding at Windy Hill Farm, it doesn’t really feel like the same old barn venue I’m used to seeing.
That was also the basis of why Ansley and Justin chose Windy Hill Farm as their wedding venue. In fact, I remember them telling me word for word “We wanted a barn wedding but didn’t want to sweat through our wedding clothes”. I understand that predicament, so I was of course on board. Being a perfect fit for these two was just an extra bonus. I tend to work with a lot of laid-back, “go with the flow” couples, so of course this was no surprise to me. And at the end of the day, despite varied weather, everyone was comfortable and happy. That’s a win in my book
So take a look below for a few of my favorite highlights from Ansley and Justin’s wedding at Windy Hill Farm!

As you can see above, this was a particularly emotional wedding. As a candid wedding photographer, I am always looking for a charged moment to capture, because those memories are the ones we hold on to for life. I won’t go into the specifics about Ansley and Justin for the sake of privacy, but suffice to say everyone that attended had something meaningful to contribute. The toasts, the ceremony, even the reception dancing was all an emotional roller coaster from start to finish…the good kind of roller coaster. I absolutely love being in the middle of these kinds of weddings, and I hope the images above help to show that side of me as a wedding photographer. Thank you for tuning in, and remember to contact me today if you are interested in having your own Windy Hill Farm wedding!
