Greenville, South Carolina
A Westin Poinsett wedding is unique in that the hotel isn’t just a wedding venue, it is a piece of Greenville history. This hotel has been a fixture on Greenville’s Main Street for nearly 100 years, and is nothing less than a cultural icon representing the mixture of both classic and modern styles which Greenville perfectly exemplifies today. So it makes perfect sense why The Westin Poinsett is such an in-demand wedding venue as well. Sprawling, lavish ballrooms and beautiful styling means a wedding photographer’s dream come true. And since it’s right in the middle of downtown, it means easy access to downtown Greenville and all the photo locations it offers.
Of course, if you have ever been downtown on a Saturday, you know how crowded it can get. But none of this bothered Nina and Matt, a gorgeous couple who chose the epitome of Greenville as their wedding venue. In fact, from what I witnessed, not much at all bothers Nina and Matt because their day was filled with nothing but beautiful moments, fun times, tearful reception toasts, and celebration….despite the downtown crowds and the never-ending time restraints that can happen at weddings. And that is the mark of a couple that is truly in love…the ability to tune everything out except each other. And when you look through their photos below, that’s what I hope you notice the most….The look in their eyes when they see each other that says more than words ever could.
Their day began, of course, at The Westin. This wasn’t my first time photographing a Westin Poinsett wedding, but it was the first time I spent the entire day there, which always makes things easier to plan. Plus, their rooms and suites are perfect for wedding photography. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun here.
Nina and Matt had one of the best first looks I have ever seen before. This is where you can really see what’s truly important to the couple: Each other.
Nina and Matt had a beautiful Jewish ceremony in the ballroom at The Westin. The ceremony was followed by their reception, which had some of the most meaningful toasts I’ve ever heard at a reception before. You can tell a lot about a couple by their family and the friends they keep, and Nina and Matt are surrounded by many many wonderful people in their lives. It was impossible not to smile watching everyone together.
As you can see, Nina and Matt’s Westin Poinsett Wedding was one-of-a-kind, just like they are. I loved being a part of it – Congratulations to the happy couple!
